Is sweevly.com a scam?

This looks like a scam.

Foot drop brace shop with an inflated review count

This shop sells foot drop braces to people recovering from a stroke or living with nerve conditions, and its brace page shows a review count far higher than the review tool on the same page reports. It names no company and none of the medical experts it says endorse the brace, so ask your doctor or physiotherapist before you buy a brace here.

Jacana would have flagged this before you got here.

Jacana flags scams in real time, before you tap, reply, or send money. About $4.16/mo, billed yearly. 7 days free.

Reasons for concern

  • Review count far above its own review tool

The brace page shows a review count beside its star rating that is many times the count the review widget built into the same page reports.

  • Medical endorsements with no names

It says the brace was tested and endorsed by chiropractors, orthopedists, rheumatologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons, and names none of them.

  • Several foot braces under different names

The same shop lists foot drop braces called StepUp, StepX, LiftX and FootUp, plus a ProStepX foot brace, next to car bulbs, garden lights and dog bowls.

  • Names no company

Its terms say only that Sweevly runs the site. Its privacy, refund, shipping and questions pages name no company either, and give only an email address and a contact form.
