Report to Reddit

The short answer
Report Reddit posts, comments and profiles, with or without an account
Reddit reporting runs through the overflow menu on whatever you are reporting. There is one detail worth knowing: you do not need a Reddit account to report a sitewide rule violation.
What they handle
- Posts and comments promoting a scam
- Profiles set up to run scams or impersonate someone
- Spam campaigns across communities
- Direct messages offering deals or investments
How to file a report
- 1
Report the post or comment
On reddit.com or in the app, tap or click the overflow menu on the post or comment, then select Report.
- 2
Report the profile itself
Go to the user page, open the overflow menu and select Report Profile. You can report the username, display name, avatar, banner or bio, and say which rule it breaks.
- 3
Block them as well
Reporting does not stop contact. Blocking the accounts you reported is a separate step.
- 4
Use the request form if you have no account
Reddit takes reports of sitewide rule violations through a request form. Include links to the posts, comments, messages or profile details involved.
What you'll need
- Links to the posts, comments or messages
- The username of the account
- Anything you sent them, if money moved
What to expect
Reports go to moderators and admins to identify accounts acting in bad faith. Reddit holds no money, so a payment sent from a Reddit conversation is recovered through your bank if at all.
Frequently asked questions
I deleted my Reddit account. Can I still report someone?
Yes. Reddit takes reports of sitewide rule violations through a request form without an account. Include links to whatever you are reporting.
