Report to ZipRecruiter

The short answer
Flag a suspicious ZipRecruiter job with the Report job button
ZipRecruiter hides its report control until you hover, which is why most people never find it. Move your cursor over the job in your search results or your applied list. A small grey Report job button appears at the bottom right.
What they handle
- Fraudulent, fake or spammy job postings
- Employers asking for payment up front
- Requests for personal or financial details during an application
- Offers made with no real interview process
How to file a report
- 1
Hover over the job and click Report job
Start from your search results page or your previously applied jobs. The grey Report job button appears in the bottom right corner when you hover.
- 2
Pick the reasons that apply
Select whatever fits the situation. The posting and the poster both go to the Trust and Safety Department for review.
- 3
Watch for a follow-up email
If ZipRecruiter needs more detail, it may contact you by email about the report.
- 4
Report it to the FTC as well
ZipRecruiter points to ReportFraud.ftc.gov and to your state attorney general.
What you'll need
- The job posting and the company name given
- The recruiter's email address and phone number
- Copies of anything you sent them
What to expect
Trust and Safety reviews the posting and the poster. Money or documents already sent are a separate problem, and one that usually turns out to be identity theft.
Frequently asked questions
They offered the job without an interview. Is that a red flag?
Yes, and ZipRecruiter lists it. No formal interview process, vague duties, upfront payment and pressure to act quickly are the standard set.
