Report to Xfinity

Last updated September 18, 2026

The short answer

Send Xfinity phishing to abuse@comcast.net with the headers included

Comcast takes Xfinity phishing at abuse@comcast.net, and it wants the headers. Its instruction is unusual and easy to get wrong. Paste the headers and the message into a new email rather than forwarding it, because forwarding strips the originals.

What they handle

  • Emails and texts impersonating Xfinity or Comcast
  • Fake billing and account suspension notices
  • Spam sent to a Comcast.net address
  • Calls claiming to be Xfinity support or collections

How to file a report

  1. 1

    Copy the full message headers

Open the message and copy its full headers. Comcast is explicit that sending the headers is critical, and that forwarding the email removes them.

  2. 2

Paste the headers and message into a new email

Send that new message to abuse@comcast.net with "Phishing email" as the subject line.

  3. 3

Call Customer Security Assurance if the account is affected

The CSA team is on 1-888-565-4329, 8:00am to 12:00am EST, seven days a week.

  4. 4

Alert your bank if you responded

Comcast tells anyone who responded to a fraudulent email to alert their bank or card company immediately. It also points to ftc.gov/complaint.

What you'll need

  • The full message headers
  • The message body
  • Your account number, if the account itself is affected

What to expect

abuse@comcast.net is an intake mailbox and does not reply case by case. The CSA line handles anything touching your own account.

Frequently asked questions
