Report to TikTok
Last updated September 18, 2026
The short answer
Report TikTok scam accounts, videos and messages in the app
TikTok reporting happens in the app, on the thing you are reporting. There is no email address for it. If a message asks for your TikTok login, TikTok's advice is not to open it at all and to report it straight away.
What they handle
- Accounts impersonating a person or brand
- Videos promoting a scam or fake investment
- Messages asking for your TikTok login
- Accounts you believe have been compromised
How to file a report
- 1
Report the account
Open the profile, tap the three dots in the top right, choose Report, and pick the reason that fits.
- 2
Report the video or message
The same three-dot Report path works on a video or a suspicious message. TikTok says to report a credential request immediately rather than opening it.
- 3
Report your own account if it was taken over
If you think your account has been compromised, TikTok asks you to report it right away so it can act on the login.
What you'll need
- The username of the account
- A link to the video or a screenshot of the message
- Any payment or wallet address you sent to
What to expect
TikTok takes action against scam content and may ban an account for repeated violations. Reporting does not recover money, so handle a payment through your bank first.
Frequently asked questions
Does reporting a TikTok account tell them it was me?
No. Reports are not shown to the account you report. That is worth knowing if the scam started with someone you actually know.
