Report to Spotify
Last updated September 18, 2026
The short answer
Forward fake Spotify billing emails to spoof@spotify.com
The Spotify scam is a payment failure notice: your Premium subscription could not be renewed, click here to fix it. Spotify takes these at spoof@spotify.com. People who have never had Premium get them too, which is the easiest tell.
What they handle
- Emails claiming your Spotify payment failed
- Fake Premium offers and free trial pitches
- Websites made to look like Spotify
- Messages asking you to confirm Spotify login details
How to file a report
- 1
Forward it to spoof@spotify.com
Spotify's instruction is to forward the email to spoof@spotify.com and then delete it, without clicking anything in it first.
- 2
Check the sender domain
Spotify's only email domain is @spotify.com. A message from anything else is not from Spotify, whatever the logo looks like.
- 3
Check your real plan in the app
Open Spotify yourself and look at your account. spotify.com is the only official site, so a billing problem is visible there if it is real.
What you'll need
- The email, forwarded rather than screenshotted
- The sender address
- The card charged, if a payment went through
What to expect
spoof@spotify.com is intake and does not reply. Spotify can act on the fake site and sender. A charge already made is a matter for your bank.
Frequently asked questions
I do not even have Premium. Why did I get a billing email?
Because these are sent in bulk to addresses from old breaches, with no idea who has an account. Getting one for a plan you never had is proof it is fake.
