Report to Spectrum
Last updated September 18, 2026
The short answer
Forward Spectrum phishing to phishing@charter.net with the headers
Spectrum runs two addresses and they are not interchangeable. A spoofed Charter or Spectrum email goes to phishing@charter.net. Internet abuse coming from a Charter IP goes to abuse@charter.net. Both want the full headers.
What they handle
- Emails spoofing Charter or Spectrum
- Fake billing and service suspension notices
- Scam and spam calls to a Spectrum line
- Internet abuse originating from a Charter IP address
How to file a report
- 1
Forward the spoofed email with headers
Send the entire email, including the email headers, to phishing@charter.net.
- 2
Use abuse@charter.net for internet abuse
If the offending IP belongs to Charter, report it to abuse@charter.net. Spectrum needs a sample including the full email header to process the claim.
- 3
Report it more widely
Spectrum also points to the US Federal Trade Commission, and to the Anti-Phishing Working Group at reportphishing@apwg.org.
What you'll need
- The full email headers
- The message body
- The offending IP address, for an abuse report
What to expect
Both mailboxes are intake and do not reply case by case. Anything touching your own Spectrum account is handled by Spectrum support instead.
Frequently asked questions
Which address do I use for a scam email pretending to be Spectrum?
phishing@charter.net. abuse@charter.net is for abuse coming from a Charter IP, which is a different problem and a different team.
