Report to PlayStation

Last updated September 18, 2026

The short answer

Report PSN scams in-system, and recover a compromised account

PlayStation wants scams reported through the system-level report function rather than by email, which sends them to the moderation team with the context attached. A compromised account or an unauthorized charge is a support call instead.

What they handle

  • Scam messages and offers on PlayStation Network
  • Accounts made with your email address
  • Unauthorized purchases on PlayStation Store
  • Phishing emails and fake PlayStation sites

How to file a report

  1. 1

    Use the in-system report function

Anything on PSN you suspect is a scam can be reported with the system-level reporting function. It goes to the moderation team to investigate.

  2. 2

Contact support about charges or a compromised account

If someone used your email to make an account, or your payment details on PlayStation Store, contact PlayStation Support as soon as you can.

  3. 3

Have your date of birth ready

Account recovery runs through security questions on the call, and you need to know the date of birth on the account to get through them.

  4. 4

    Only use known Sony addresses

account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com is the real account management site, and support.us.playstation.com is the real help site. Type them rather than following a link.

What you'll need

  • The PSN online ID of the account involved
  • The date of birth on your account
  • The date and amount of any charge

What to expect

Moderation acts on the reported account. Unauthorized charges are handled by support, and by your card issuer if support cannot reverse them.

Frequently asked questions

Someone offered free PSN credit for my login. Is there ever a real version of that?

No. There is no site or person that generates PSN credit. The offer exists to collect the login, and the account is emptied and resold within the hour.
