Report to Netflix

Last updated September 18, 2026

The short answer

Forward fake Netflix billing emails and texts, and secure a hijacked account

Netflix takes scam reports at one address, phishing@netflix.com. Everything goes there. The "your payment was declined" email, the renewal text, a fake Netflix site or app, a phone number claiming to be support. Netflix never asks you to fix billing from a link.

What they handle

  • Emails claiming your Netflix payment failed or your account is suspended
  • Text messages about a Netflix renewal or refund
  • Websites and apps impersonating Netflix
  • Phone numbers claiming to be Netflix support
  • Accounts taken over after credentials were entered on a fake page

How to file a report

  1. 1

Do not click, then forward the email

Forward the message to phishing@netflix.com without opening links or attachments, then delete it. This is the same address for every kind of Netflix impersonation, including fake sites, apps and phone numbers.

  2. 2

    Forward a text on Android

Tap and hold the message, tap "Forward message", tap the forward arrow, enter phishing@netflix.com, select the address you just entered, then tap Send. Delete the message afterwards.

  3. 3

Forward a text on iPhone or iPad

Tap and hold the message, tap "More…" and then the forward arrow, enter phishing@netflix.com and tap Send. Delete the message afterwards.

  4. 4

If you entered anything, secure the account

Change your Netflix password from netflix.com rather than from any link in the message. If you gave payment details, contact your bank or card issuer. Netflix sends people who shared payment information to their own bank, because it cannot reverse a charge made elsewhere.

What you'll need

  • The original email or text, forwarded rather than screenshotted
  • The address or number it came from
  • The fake site or app address, if that is what you found
  • Your Netflix account email, if the account itself was accessed

What to expect

phishing@netflix.com is an intake address. Netflix does not reply case by case, and reporting a message does not recover money. Anything already charged is a matter for your bank. Your real billing status is at netflix.com/account, which is the only place it is ever accurate.

Frequently asked questions

Will Netflix tell me what happened to my report?

No. It is a one-way intake address. If money has left your account, the action that matters is with your bank, not with Netflix.

How do I know whether my Netflix payment really did fail?

Open netflix.com or the app yourself and check the account page. A genuine billing problem is visible there. It is never necessary to reach billing through a link in an email or text.
