Report to Intuit

Last updated September 18, 2026

The short answer

Send fake TurboTax and Intuit emails to spoof@intuit.com

Intuit takes spoofed TurboTax email at spoof@intuit.com. Tax-season phishing is worth reporting twice, because the IRS runs its own intake at phishing@irs.gov and tracks these campaigns separately.

What they handle

  • Emails claiming to be TurboTax or Intuit
  • Fake refund and filing notices
  • Requests for your Intuit sign-in or banking details
  • Sites impersonating TurboTax to collect tax data

How to file a report

  1. 1

    Forward it to spoof@intuit.com

Intuit investigates spoofed email using its brands at that address. security@intuit.com is the other route. That team assesses the risk and works to stop further emails.

  2. 2

Send tax phishing to the IRS as well

Do not respond or click. Forward it to phishing@irs.gov and then delete it. The IRS tracks tax-season campaigns that Intuit alone does not see.

  3. 3

    Check the sending domain

Official Intuit email ends in @intuit.com, including @e.intuit.com and @eq.accountants.intuit.com. Any link in a real email points to an intuit.com address.

  4. 4

Know what Intuit never asks for

Intuit will never ask for personal information, sign-in or password details, banking details or card numbers by email.

What you'll need

  • The email and its sending address
  • Any link it contained, without clicking it
  • Your Intuit account email, if you entered credentials

What to expect

Both mailboxes are intake. If you gave up tax details, treat it as identity theft rather than a billing problem. A stolen Social Security number is what these are really after.

Frequently asked questions

Why report a TurboTax email to the IRS?

Because the target is your tax identity, not your TurboTax account. phishing@irs.gov is how the IRS tracks filing-season campaigns and links them to fraudulent returns.
