Report to Instacart
Last updated September 18, 2026
The short answer
Report an Instacart issue from the order, through Get help
Instacart reporting starts on the order itself. There is a second scam worth knowing if you shop for Instacart. Services advertised on social media promise an advantage with batches, and exist to take money or account details.
What they handle
- Safety issues involving a shopper or customer
- Phishing and spam, which breach the Community Guidelines
- Bots and services sold to shoppers on social media
- Accounts you can no longer sign in to
How to file a report
- 1
Open Get help on the order
Select Get help on the relevant order, choose Report safety issue under Other issues, select what happened, add detail and submit.
- 2
Report a guidelines breach
Phishing and spam are prohibited under the Community Guidelines. Instacart reviews reported violations and can permanently remove account access.
- 3
Ignore batch bots and shopper services
Instacart says it removed more than 1,200 scam accounts in a year advertising bots and services to shoppers. They exist to take money or personal information.
- 4
Use the account security form if you are locked out
Shoppers whose details were changed and who cannot sign in have a dedicated form. Submitting it deactivates the account for safety.
What you'll need
- The order number and date
- The shopper or customer name shown in the app
- Screenshots of the messages
What to expect
Trust and Safety investigates all reports and says it will reach out to resolve the issue. A payment sent outside Instacart is a bank matter.
Frequently asked questions
Someone is selling a bot that gets better Instacart batches. Does it work?
No. Instacart has removed over 1,200 accounts advertising these. They take your money, your login, or both, and using one would cost you the account anyway.
