   Call the fraud line

   GEICO gives 1-800-824-5404 extension 3313 for reporting suspected fraud. You can notify the police as well.

   Reach GEICO only through channels you chose

   Use the GEICO mobile app, type GEICO.com yourself, or call 1-800-207-7847. Never a number from a message or a search advert.

   Report it to the NICB

   The National Insurance Crime Bureau takes reports online or on 1-800-TEL-NICB. That is the industry-wide route for insurance fraud.

   Take sweepstakes letters to a postal inspector

   For fraudulent sweepstakes letters and cheques, GEICO points to your local postal inspector or other law enforcement. Mail fraud is their jurisdiction.

• Your policy number, if you have one
• The phone number or website that contacted you
• Any cheque or letter you received, kept intact

GEICO's Special Investigations Unit handles claim fraud. A payment you made to a fake GEICO is recovered through your bank, not through the insurer.
