Report to Discord

The short answer
Report Discord scams with a message link, to Trust and Safety
Discord's report form needs a message link, so grab that before you block anyone. Two rules cover most of what happens on the platform. Discord has never made a bot that offers free products, and nobody who asks for your account details is staff.
What they handle
- Bot DMs offering free games, currency or gifts
- Accounts claiming to be Discord staff
- Crypto and NFT pitches in servers and DMs
- Hacked and compromised accounts
How to file a report
- 1
Get the message link
Hold the message on mobile, or right-click it on desktop and browser, to select and copy it. The report form asks for a Message Link of the violating content.
- 2
Submit the report
Use the in-app report flow or the form at dis.gd/report, and select the type of abuse you are reporting.
- 3
Ignore any bot offering you something
Discord states it has never created a bot designed to offer free products. A DM from one asking you to click a link is a scam.
- 4
Report anyone claiming to be staff
Accounts claiming to be Discord staff, or asking for account information, should go to Trust and Safety.
What you'll need
- The message link to the violating content
- The username and user ID
- Screenshots of the conversation
What to expect
Your identity is not shared with the reported account, even on appeal, unless Discord is legally required to disclose it. Do not file duplicate or false reports, which can cost you access to reporting.
Frequently asked questions
A Discord bot DMed me about free Nitro. Is there a real version?
No. Discord says it has never created a bot designed to offer free products. The link goes to a fake login page, and the account is taken over from there.
