Report to Delta

The short answer

Report Delta ticket fraud on the Revenue Protection line

Delta has been impersonated by email, social media, postcard and prize letter, and it names them all. The rule that cuts through it: Delta never asks you to pay with gift cards of any kind.

What they handle

  • Ticket fraud and fraudulent bookings
  • Fake Delta gift card promotion websites
  • Prize letters and postcards promising free travel
  • Emails claiming you bought a ticket or that a card was charged

How to file a report

  1. 1

    Call the Revenue Protection Unit

Delta gives 404-773-5315 as the information line for reporting potential ticket fraud or suspicion of it.

  2. 2

    Refuse any gift card payment

Delta states it never asks you to pay with alternative forms of payment. That covers Visa gift cards, Amex gift cards and Google Play cards.

  3. 3

    Ignore free-flight social offers

Sites offering free flights for following or liking an account are not Delta. Neither are the letters and prize notifications promising free travel.

  4. 4

Check the booking on delta.com yourself

An email saying you purchased a ticket, that a card was charged, or with an invoice attached is checked by opening your Delta account directly.

What you'll need

  • The confirmation number quoted in the message
  • The sender address or the website address
  • The card charged, if a payment went through

What to expect

The Revenue Protection line handles ticket fraud. A payment sent to a fake Delta promotion never reached Delta, so recovery is with your bank.

Frequently asked questions

A Delta page offered free flights for sharing a post. Real?

No. Delta lists that pattern among the fakes using its name. Real promotions appear on delta.com, not as a share-to-win post.
