Report to Chime

Last updated September 18, 2026

The short answer

Reach Chime on the one real number, and know the verified social handles

Fake Chime support is the scam, so the useful facts are which channels are real. Support is 1-844-244-6363 or in-app chat, and the verified social accounts are @Chime and @ChimeHelps. Anything else claiming to be Chime support is not.

What they handle

  • Fake Chime support profiles, sites and emails
  • Unauthorized activity on a Chime account
  • Identity theft involving a Chime account
  • Phishing texts aimed at Chime members

How to file a report

  1. 1

    Freeze the card first

If you have been scammed, freeze your card in the app immediately and change your password, before anything else.

  2. 2

Contact Chime through a real channel

Support is on 1-844-244-6363 around the clock, or live chat in the Chime app. On social media, only @Chime and @ChimeHelps are verified.

  3. 3

Forward a scam text to 7726

That reports it to your mobile carrier. Chime also points to the FTC, at ReportFraud.ftc.gov or IdentityTheft.gov for identity theft.

  4. 4

Remember what Chime never asks for

Chime does not ask for personal information in an email, text, phone call or social media message.

What you'll need

  • The date and amount of each disputed transaction
  • The number or profile that contacted you
  • Screenshots of the conversation

What to expect

Freezing the card is the step that stops further loss. Consider a fraud alert and a credit freeze too, which Chime recommends after any scam.

Frequently asked questions

I found Chime support on social media and they DMed me. Real?

Only @Chime and @ChimeHelps are verified. Fake support profiles reply to people complaining publicly, which is exactly when someone is most likely to trust them.
