Report to AT&T

Last updated September 18, 2026

The short answer

Forward AT&T phishing to abuse@att.net and scam texts to 7726

AT&T takes phishing email at abuse@att.net and scam texts at the shared 7726 short code. Forwarding to 7726 is free for AT&T customers. If you cannot see the sending number, there is a fallback that keeps the evidence intact.

What they handle

  • Phishing emails using the AT&T name
  • Scam and spam texts to an AT&T number
  • Fake AT&T websites and billing notices
  • Fraud on an AT&T mobile account

How to file a report

  1. 1

Forward a phishing email to abuse@att.net

AT&T asks customers to forward suspicious email there. It also suggests sending a copy to the Anti-Phishing Working Group at reportphishing@apwg.org.

  2. 2

Forward a scam text to 7726

7726 spells SPAM on a keypad. Messages forwarded to it are free for AT&T customers, and it is how the carrier records and blocks the sender.

  3. 3

Email the whole message if the number is hidden

When you cannot see the sending number, AT&T asks you to email the entire message to abuse@att.net instead. That keeps the parts 7726 would have needed.

  4. 4

Report account fraud to the AT&T fraud team

If the AT&T mobile account itself is the target rather than just your inbox, report it to the fraud team through AT&T support. Forwarding a message is not enough for that.

What you'll need

  • The sending number or email address, where it is visible
  • The message itself, forwarded rather than retyped
  • Your account number, for account fraud

What to expect

Neither abuse@att.net nor 7726 replies. Both feed blocking and evidence rather than opening a case. Money already sent is a matter for your bank, and AT&T also points customers to the FTC.

Frequently asked questions
